The Shotokan Karate Napier Club welcomes all – children, teens, adults – to enjoy the benefits of traditional martial arts training.
Shotokan Karate is an intense physical art and an outstanding total mind-body exercise. It is a decisive method of self-defense, and a proven way to develop self-control & discipline for kids, and to manage stress for adults. It is an exciting competitive sport, and, for some – it becomes a philosophy of life. It is an art that allows participants of all ages and at varying levels of intensity – from the recreational practitioner – to the internationally competitive athlete – to train to their full potential.
Our philosophy is based on the core principles of “character, sincerity, dedication, etiquette and self control” – making Shotokan Karate an especially good martial-art for children and families as well as individual adults.
Please contact us or come down and train. Everyone is welcome.
Yours in Shotokan – Edmond Otis, Chief Instructor
